About Monica Yong
Monica has more than 20 years of industry experience and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore. She oversees and manages a diverse portfolio of clients from the trading, investment, property management, manufacturing, education, fund management, IT consultancy, country clubs, non-profit organisations and services industries.
Prior to joining HLB Atrede, she was the Deputy Director of the Practice Monitoring Department at ISCA. She assisted to direct and oversee the inspection team and works closely with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (“ACRA”). She was also instrumental to the development of the Quality Assurance Framework and rolling out the key initiatives in ISCA to raise audit quality for the auditing profession in Singapore.
Prior to her appointment in ISCA, she joined Ernst & Young upon graduation from the Nanyang Technological University and gained vast audit experience in various industries, including airlines, healthcare, retail, property management, manufacturing, etc. She obtained her practising licence in 1999 and joined a local audit firm as an audit and tax partner. Monica retired from her audit practice and joined a healthcare group of companies with offices in Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia as the group Chief Financial Officer.
Monica is a trainer in ISCA’s continuing professional education programme and speaks in professional conferences on topics related to practice monitoring and audit quality.
